Strengthening Science, Research and Innovation Cooperation between Europe and South Africa (ESASTAP)

Strengthening of Science, Research and Innovation Cooperation between Europe and South Africa.

European South African Science and Technology Advancement Programme (ESASTAP) was launched during the sixth European Union Framework Programme (the main EU funding instrument for research and innovation) to promote, facilitate and coordinate research, development and innovation (RDI) cooperation between South Africa and the European Union in areas of common interest.

The initiative has not only enhanced RDI cooperation under the Framework Programme and other reciprocal programmes, but enriched and facilitated policy dialogue, fostered innovation partnerships, and promoted greater coordination and synergy.
