EuroScience the European Association for the Advancement of Science and Technology
Company Profile

Company Profile

EuroScience, the European Association for the Advancement of Science and Technology is a pan-European independent, individual-member-based non-profit association. Our mission is to represent its members as individual scientists and science professionals, independently of their institutional affiliation or employer. EuroScience reflects and debates on science and the science system in general, the relation of science to society and the role of the science professions in promoting well-being and societal progress. We regularly consult our members, both directly and through the  science policy working group, on major topics of importance for science and society and offer a “voice” for expression of the position of science professionals through public statements and messages to political institutions, policy makers and the public. Our headquarters are in the city of Strasbourg (France), seat both European Parliament, the legislative branch of the European Union, and of the Council of Europe.

EuroScience Open Forum

EuroScience Open Forum

The EuroScience Open Forum
By far the largest and most successful action of EuroScience is the EuroScience Open Forum (ESOF), a biennial pan-European meeting dedicated to open dialog on scientific research and innovation in, with and for society. With an average of more than 4000 participants and 120 different programme sessions in each edition, the ESOF events are the largest interdisciplinary scientific conferences in Europe. Each edition of ESOF is hosted by a different European city, recognized for the year of ESOF as European City of Science. The sessions at ESOF are diverse and can take the form of keynote lectures, public debates or interactive workshops on a wide variety of topics ranging from the impact of new disruptive technologies to the contribution of science education in eradicating poverty.

EuroScientist

EuroScientist

EuroScientist is the official journal of EuroScience, a grassroots association of scientists and people with an interest in science-related matters in Europe. We mainly focus on issues arising at the interface with society in Europe, including Science Policy.
Our vision is to ensure that EuroScientist reflects the diversity of voices of scientists and those working in fields related to science and on matters related to European research. Its motto is: “European science conversations by the community, for the community.”
It is a magazine designed to enable members of the European science community and others, including policy makers, to share opinions and perspectives on current issues*. It also aims, to a large extend, at furthering the debate on topical issues.
EuroScientist focuses on science policy, funding, science in society, science communication, scientists’ careers, Responsible Research and Innovation, ethics, innovation, scientists’ lifestyle, etc. and more generally about what is happening at the interface between science and society. We publish journalistic articles, opinions and expert perspectives.
Out Audience
EuroScientist has evolved tremendously since its relaunch in February 2013. The quality of our audience stems from the fact that they are highly targeted, and highly qualified including researchers from all over Europe, policy makers and professionals with interest in science. The geographical coverage of our audience goes beyond European borders, with both authors and readers from all over the world.

*Disclaimer: views expressed on EuroScientist are the responsibility of the authors and do not represent necessarily EuroScience’s position.
